1. January 1 - December 31, 2016 built on the records of pedigrees and owners in the CBHA database with 416 active members, 283 registrations of new Belgians and 282 transfers of horses to new owners. Updating of the database on the website: -for public research, DNA recording for purposes of parentage verification, diagnostic tool and used as a breed improvement tool. The CBHA continued with the testing of JEB (Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa) to control this disease in the Belgian Breed and continued to implement the ruling that if a are was DNA/Jeb tested and mares in her bloodline would ole have to be DNA tested. 2. The CBG4HA magazine "The Canadian Belgian Banner" distributed to all members, enquires, new owners and interested enthusiasts. It is used for: -Publishing of Belgian show and sale results, articles about horse care, maintenance thus providing educational characteristics of a sound, healthy and productive Belgian. 3. YOUTH: Purpose of the Canadian Belgian Youth Program is to promote youth involvement in the various facets of the Belgian Horse and therefore educating them and recognizing their achievements. Areas: East-Maritime provinces and QC; Central-ON; West-BC, AB, SK, and MB. Age Groups: Jr Division-ages 8-13 as of January 1 of the current year; Sr Division-ages 14-18 as of January 1 of current year. A total of $1,020 was paid out including the jackets; plus photo and write-up of each participant was published in the Canadian Belgian Banner. ...
