Rescued over 450 dogs from Northern Ontario communities. Continued to serve remote communities in the Kenora District north of Thunder Bay, and onManitoulin Island, as well as those in the James Bay coast area. Operated a program to provide transportation for dogs to Barrie area from northern communities. Worked with rescue organzations in the Thunder Bay area to transport dogs from communities accessible only by air. Provided medical care for rescued animals including vaccination, microchipping, and medical treatment including major surgery for injured/sick dogs. Operated a program to provide temporary foster homes for rescued dogs until they were adopted-provided all supplies and food to fosters. Operated a program to pre-qualify potential dog adopters utilizing a detailed applicaiton and comprehensive home evaluation. Operated a dog adoption program that placed over 450 dogs in qualified permanent homes. Educated dog adopters in importance of spaying/neutering their adopted dogs, and providing proper training, environment and care. Held a number of public events where information on the needs of abandoned dogs in Northern communities was provided, and also to encourage spaying/neutering of dogs. Supplied donated food, medical supplies and equipment to Northern communities. ...
