SpayAid PEI is a targeted spay & neuter assistance program partnering with Veterinary clinics on Prince Edward Island to assist low income families and individuals with having their companion animals spayed & neutered. Spay and neuter surgery costs are split 3 ways, with the approved low income pet owner paying approx 1/3, SpayAid PEI contributes approx 1/3 and the participating Vet clinic donates (or discounts their services) to cover the remaining amount. Applicants must provide proof of income that meets our low income criteria in order to qualify. Upon qualification, the applicant then receives a voucher for vaccination and spay/neuter services, which they must present to one of our partner Vet clinics. When services are rendered, the client pays their share directly to the Vet clinic, and the Vet clinic invoices SpayAid for our portion, and returns the completed and signed vouchers with their invoice as evidence of services rendered. SpayAid PEI then pays the Vet clinic directly. We carefully track all vouchers issued, redeemed and outstanding.
