Services Provided by Langley Animal Protection Society
In 2016, LAPS continued to develop a new trap, neuter and return (TNR) program to help address the challenge of cat overpopulation in the Langley community. A small group of staff and volunteers have identified multiple largefree living or feral cat colonies on rural properties and are working with property owners to trap, spay/neuter and return or re-home these cats. It is estimated that there are more than 20,000 free living and feral cats in Langley. To support this initiative, LAPS and the Township of Langley are working together to design and build a separate cat isolation and care facility on LAPS' current site in Aldergrove,BC. This new building will enable staff and volunteers to care for more cats and ensure they receive the best care possible. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2017 with completion by the end of November 2017.
