1. Harbour Porpoise Release Program working with fishermen to release entrapped harbour porpoise, 2. Studying the ecology and health of harbour porpoise including those released from traps for herring. 3. Monitoring large whales, seabirds, sharks, lobsters in the Bay of Fundy focusing on diet, tracking (radio/satellite), banding/photo-identification, specific studies of lipids (fats) and reproduction of marine species. 4. Developing and distributing right whale and basking shark/shark stewardship and conservation material, and collaborating with other groups. 5. Providing public education of marine animals though museum displays, lectures, outdoor signs, web sites, handouts. 6. Responding to marine animals in distress, including entangled whales. Our scientific staff largely volunteer their time with small stipends for our interns who receive hands-on experience in marine science in summer months.
