Beach Interpretation Programs (BIP) at Stanley Park (at the invitation of Science World) for the Bioblitz, at Saturna Island and at Bowen Island. Over 500 members of the public attend these events. Also attended Diver's Weekend at Vancouver Aquarium 2,000+ Extension of Marine Protected Area at Halkett Bay Park announced by BC's Environment Minister Mary Polak Was announced in March. This was brought about by advocacy by the MLSS. Citizen Science on Glass Sponge Bioherms with Vancouver Aquarium. Newly discovered by MLSS 2 years ago this bioherm is very large and slightly deep starting at 250ft. 2 Divers dove to investigate. Participated in further talks with the DFO. Continued scientific research on bioherms.
